Connect Pro Add-In for Enhanced Audio

I have two questions:

1.  I know the Connect Pro Add-In is required for anyone Hosting a meeting to ensure they can load files and share screens.  However, I recently noticed that the Connection diagnostic test is prompting you to download the Add-In.  I read somewhere that the Add-In is for "Enhanced Audio".  What is the best recommended practice for participants?  Should everyone load the Add-In?  Does their Audio depend upon it?

2.  With the recent change in URL domains, I discovered I needed to re-install the Add-In.  Is this common, and should I have all my user re-install this?

Re 1....we've taken the attitude that we encourage all to install the add-in...it just keeps things simple in terms of getting ready for a meeting. Audio doesn't depend on it, but supposedly the add-in does improve performance (read it somewhere, can't remember where).

I've found the addin to help with overall performance, however the enhanced audio has always caused our offices more trouble than it solves.
