converting connect recordings to mpeg, quicktime, flash video?

Haven't found any information on this in the admin files, is it possible to take a connect recording and convert it to a mpeg, quicktime, or flash video?  Eventually I want to make podcast.

Suggestions or where to look for this information?

Thanks.  Linda

Re: converting connect recordings to mpeg, quicktime, flash video?

once you have gone through the 'make offline' process for your recording, there are several ways to convert that recording.

a couple of the easiest ways are:

http://www.formatoz.com  - Format Factory (free, easy, converts most anything to most anything else)

and

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html#Dnload  - SUPER (free, easy, converts most anything to most anything else)  just follow the 'download and use' or 'start downloading' links to get to the actual file download.

Both apps are free and easy to use.  As you use them, you'll discover which you prefer, and the strengths and weaknesses of each for your particular scenario.  I've used both to convert Connect recordings with good success.

I second Greg's recommendations.

If Flash Video is an option though (as stated in your subject line), you don't need to convert it at all.  Making an offline version will create an FLV (Flash Video) that can be played on with any media player that supports FLV.  I recommend VLC (it play virtually everything and is cross platform) and the Adobe Media Player (also cross platform since it's built on Adobe AIR).  Both of these are free.
