Unreliable Access to API

Has anyone else noticed that the API on the hosted Connect is terribly unreliable?  It seems that every day there are periods where the API spits back a SQL Error instead of nicely formed XML.  When this happens, Connect itself is fine, but the API doesn't work.

Does this happen to other people?

What about people who host Connect themselves?  Do they notice similar problems?

The API can definitely be unreliable, I've needed to build error trapping into our platform to account for this.  I've also experienced difficulty with load when using things like ?guestname= on a hosted account.

I would say that in 2009 these problems seem to be less of an issue than last year, however, I'm not willing to put any money on my results just yet.

It seems unreal that a service like this would be so unreliable.

I am still curious as to whether people who host Connect themselves are able to keep the API running better than Adobe can - or whether they have the same issues.

Anybody have any experience to share?
