Universal Voice and in general VOIP audio quality in 7.5

Hi,

While we -the na6 cluster users- waiting our turn to be upgraded to 7.5, I would appreciate if you can share your experiences with:

- Universal Voice  (in terms of ease of set up and robustness)

- VOIP quality in general (particularly if improved compared to v7.0).

We have been patiently waiting for 7.5 to offer VOIP only large training sessions, and hopefully the wait is worth it.

Thank you,

Re: Universal Voice and in general VOIP audio quality in 7.5

Hi Erhan,

It was great to finally meet you at DevLearn in San Jose.

I can report that 7.5 appears to have solved the VOIP issues and is delivering extremely high quality audio. We're also have good experiences with Universal Voice and rebroadcast of external Toll Free audio via the computer speakers.

The difference is like night and day.

We are also introducing our newest pod for ACP called the rPhone which we believe will transform the use of audio in Connect 7.5.

The rPhone is a custom pod that acts like a SoftPhone inside of your meetings allowing users to dial out to themselves - including navigation of automated phone systems and extensions. The rPhone will support calls to any landline around the world (with a few exceptions) or to SIP based phones or even Skype accounts. It even supports dialing in to local numbers in 25 countries and counting.

The cost per minute for SIP and Skype calls will be about half of the cost of calling land lines and all of the rates will be lower than what you've seen with the integrated audio bridges. The rPhone also supports volume controls, muting, voting and perhaps, most exciting of all, voice to text transcription directly to a dedicated chat pod inside of the meeting.

All of this is possible once you move to 7.5. It will be a Happy New Year for Connect Pro users.

Regards,

Terry

Re: Universal Voice and in general VOIP audio quality in 7.5

Hi Terry,

Thanks for the great feedback. Sounds like it was worth the wait. We will get rid off the THAT-2 VOIP patch, and start using Universal Voice once we move to 7.5.

It was great meeting you at DevLearn. I was very impressed with Refined Data Solutions' custom pods.  Please keep us posted when rPhone goes GA.

Regards,

Erhan
