Gray Area Around Slides

I can't seem to get rid of the gray area that appears around the slides in the Share pod. Is it a special format in PowerPoint?

The gray area appears because the share pod has not been sized properly. So, if the gray area appears at the top and bottom of the slide, grab the side of the share pod with the cursor, and widen the share pod.  If the gray appears on the sides, grab the top or bottom and extend the height of the share pod.  You will see that the gray will then disappear.  Play with it a bit and you'll see how it works.  The fact that you have created a perfectly good looking slide on your screen, doesn't mean, however, that a participant won't have some gray.  But it will be minimized if you have it right on your screen.
