360 degree camera (RoundTable)
Has anybody used a RoundTable, a 360 degree camera, with Adobe Connect? http://www.microsoft.com/UC/products/roundtable.mspx
I was just wondering if it could intergrate with Adobe.

Re: 360 degree camera (RoundTable)
If it acts like and shows up as a usb camera device, it should work.
but, here are the system requirements:
Polycom CX5000 requires a computer with the following:
Microsoft Windows

We have one of these in one of our conference rooms, but I haven't used it. However, it is an interesting thought and I may need to reserver that room for some testing.

Re: 360 degree camera (RoundTable)
An update to this thread...Microsoft is discontinuing Roundtable and instead handing over the technology over to Polycom as part of the Polycom CX5000 Unified Conference Station:

Microsoft says they will continue to support existing customers...

Re: 360 degree camera (RoundTable)
Yes, I had read that Polycom was taking over RoundTable, but I would like to know if it intergrates with Adobe Connect.
I also think that it is very expensive camera. But, I am having alot more meeting where someone can't travel because of budgets. The complaint is they could hear what people where saying, but couldn't tell who was talking. (Yes, I ask them to give their name before talking, but this doesn't work).
I am just trying to look for a practical way to do conferance room type meetings.

I am trying to reserve the room with ours next week so that I can test. I will let you know what I find.

Re: 360 degree camera (RoundTable)
Just had this chat with a Polycom rep on its website:
Ernest Rebugio: Hi thomas! How may I help you?
thomas white: Can your 360 camera work with Acrobat Connect Pro?
Ernest Rebugio: No it cannot.

Re: 360 degree camera (RoundTable)
Then he added more:
Ernest Rebugio: Our cameras work direcltly with the video codecs such as the VSX or HDX systems
Ernest Rebugio: I know that Acrobat Connect Pro is a web based service
Ernest Rebugio: which does not do h.323

Re: 360 degree camera (RoundTable)
Thomas - Thanks for that info.
I did just go test ours out, and Connect could see that there was a camera, but could not display any images. I only played with it for about 15-20 minutes, but it was worth testing.
So - this 360 camera is a no go with how Connect currently works with cameras. Who knows what the future may hold.

Re: 360 degree camera (RoundTable)
DVDriver has been discussed in other posts. I have used it to make the computer think a camera is a webcam. Wonder if anyone knows whether it would work here to make this camera work with Connect Pro. If interested you might search DVDriver in this forum.
