Continued issues playing MP4 in Share Pod
Since AC11 we have continued to experience significant issues sharing any videos through our meeting rooms. These videos are between 1.2 mins to 6 mins long and even in the shortest video we experience the video freezing for some participants at random points, sometimes the sound continues but the image is frozen on vice versa. Again, these issues did not happen before the update and now several weeks after the AC11 we are beginning to become very frustrated. Is there anything we can do to overcome these issues and improve the experience of our learners? Has anyone found a way to get around this?
A sample of our typical videos are (they are all uploaded into Adobe Connect central as shared content and played through a share pod):
1. MP4 // 15 mb // 00:06:18 // 1280x720 // data rate 151 kbps // total bit rate 329 kbps // 15.37 fps
2. MP4 // 35.8 mb // 00:01:29 // 1290x720 // 3143 kbps // 3335 kbps // 25 fps
Any help is appreciated as our only options at the moment seem to be to stop using them.

Re: Continued issues playing MP4 in Share Pod
My settings that I try to stick with are as follows:
MP4 | 720 X 480 | 600-800 kbps | 30 FPS
That has been a pretty reliable setting over the years. You aren't far from that, other than resolution for #1. #2 I would expect to buffer because it will demand a large amount of bandwidth.

Re: Continued issues playing MP4 in Share Pod
Many thanks for your reply Jorma. Would you recommend I try to optimise these videos then to your preferred settings, and what is the easiest way to achieve this? I wonder if the difference in resolution matters at all.

Re: Continued issues playing MP4 in Share Pod
There are a no end to the options for video encoding applications. Handbrake is free, I like AVS' Video converter, there is Adobe Media Encoder, etc.
I would try starting at the settings I listed and see if it changes anything. From there we can work on next steps, if needed.
