Which flv Codec to Use in Presenter

Hi,

when i import a spark encoded .flv in presenter i get an error message that there is a problem and the file possibly cannot play correctly.

the flv file can be imported nonetheless. but on some slides published we have the problem that audio gets lost  after a while.

i suppose that is due to the codec and therefore it is better to encode to on2 right from the start.

can anyone confirm this?

Re: Which flv Codec to Use in Presenter

I'm hoping if anything this serves as a bump for your question.

To my knowledge, it is recommended to use Sorenson Spark to convert movies created in flash to an FLV format.  Ive seen issues like you are describing when using the On2 VP6 codec but never Spark.

Have you tried On2 yet? What was the result?

Re: Which flv Codec to Use in Presenter

One easy way to detect what problems an flv file might have is to use the command line flvcheck tool which ships with Adobe Presenter.

Try the following (assuming the file you want to test is c:\WhyWontItWork.flv)
1. Open Command Prompt (type cmd in Run Window).
2. In the Cmd. Prompt window type - cd "%PROGRAMFILES%\Adobe\Presenter 7"
3. type flvcheck.exe -w "c:\ WhyWontItWork.flv"

What's the output? Does it give any warnings?

Re: Which flv Codec to Use in Presenter

hi,

we used spark as well as on2 and the problem is still there.

i found out that publishing the files out of presenter to the server using presenter 7.02 and office 2007 works. uploading the zipped presentation causes the audio problem.

i tried the flv-check tool and it puts out this message:

warning -110 Video may appear stalled due to lack of audio data.

this could be the problem. i will check the encoding.
