Do I need un-install MS SQl when I upgade Connect pro 7 to SP1 ?

I cannot completely  finish to upgrade to SP1 from V7.0. Do  I need un-install MS SQl when I upgade Connect pro 7 to SP1 ?

according to the installer, if you are using the embedded DB, yes.
my development box, using the embedded installer, made me back-up and remove the previous version.
