Streaming video

Hi, I'm investigating Abobe Connect's ability to display one live video feed from a multi-cam studio.

As I understand it, it might be possible to have a good quality HD video stream displayed in a pod. I'm aware of TalkingStick but this software offers more than what we need and is way beyond our budget. There is a presentation by Nick Hippe called Adobe Connect Video Solutions on the web. In it he describes a free custom pod that he has created for a live video stream but the link to it is dead. That presentation seems old and perhaps by now Connect offers this ability natively in the software?

Can anyone suggest a workflow that would enable HD live streaming (not using the presenters webcam low quality feed)?

Many thanks,
Emyr

Re: Streaming video

There are a few options out there. TalkingStick is one, but it does have a cost to go with its long list of features.

tecRacer VideoPlayer is another option, and it less expensive, http://www.gallery-dump.com/forum/viewt … #p1396354. However, understand that this solution doesn't come with the back end media server needed to deliver your live stream, so there will be additional costs.

If you want a lower cost solution there is HDPod from ConnectSolutions which they have released the source code for here, https://github.com/connectsolutions/HDPod. You could build your own video pod that meets your needs using this at no cost (other than the media server you would need to acquire to deliver the video).

Connect still doesn't support HD video in the video pod, I suspect it is primarily for performance reasons.
