Blind Student feedback

I had a Blind student who took notes the JAWS features of Connect Add-In and issues they noticed. I noticed 9.4 is supposed to fix some JAWS issues, so I don't know what will remain.

Hot Keys for Adobe Connect:

Application Menu:

- Ctrl + Spacebar  brings up Application Menu

- use arrow keys to see items within the menu options

- two menus, Meeting sub menu and Help sub menu

- Tab to get to other options for Mute/Unmute Speakers, Mute/Unmute Microphone, Set Status, and Connection Status

- Another Tab will get you into the next pod window

Status and Mute Buttons:

- Ctrl + Down Arrow shows the options for Status and Mute button drop downs

- Down Arrow to move through options and Press Enter to select one

- issue: Tab back and then forward to see the Status selected

- Press Spacebar or Enter on the Status to unset it

- issue: Tab back and forward to check Status is unset

- Or use the Ctrl + Down Arrow to select Clear Status

- issue: these options only functioned if the icons available were: Mute Speakers, Mute Mic, Status, and Connection

- issue: if the Recording icon is added or the Mute Mic icon is removed, the Status options could not be accessed

Pods:

- Ctrl +F6  moves between pods

- Tab moves between items in a pod

- issue: CTRL + F6 does not always announce which Pod is in focus

- issue: this seemed to depend on the pod layout used

- Press Tab to hear the options  in the pod

- If no options are heard, try Esc to get out of a menu bar and then Ctrl + F6 or Tab or Shift + Tab

- Pod arrangement is determined by instructor and changes through the course

- issue: there was no way to interact with the video pod to turn it off

Chat and Questions:

- Chat pod shows to all students

- Question pod only shows to instructor

- type in the Edit window; Tab to the Send button and press Spacebar

- Tab again will put you back in the edit window

- Shift + Tab to get to list of previously sent messages

- in the Q&A chat it is possible to walk through the previous message history and see responses

- issue: in the chat with everyone window the reader will only read from the top message in the history until the window would require a scroll

- issue: no way to read message by message or see messages below the window size
