Trying to set up video within meeting room.

Hello! I am trying to set up a recorded video file (.flv) to automatically stream within the meeting room and trying to get the meeting to be set for Public view/invitation. This is for one of my Ph.D. courses and my professor needs to view my video within the meeting room.

Best regards,
Maurice

Re: Trying to set up video within meeting room.

Hey Maurice,

You should be able to download a local copy of the recording as an FLV (it sounds like you've already done this), then simply upload the FLV to a blank share pod the same way you'd upload any PPT or PDF document. Click the arrow beside 'Share My Screen', then select 'Share Document' and click the 'Browse my computer' button to navigate to your local FLV file.

Thanks,
Alistair

Re: Trying to set up video within meeting room.

Hello,

The method Alistair mentioned has worked well for me too...the only thing to take note of is if your recording had handouts (File Pod) or other interactive elements you will most likely lose them as the FLV is a flat rendering of your meeting room.

At least that has been my experience. I have gotten around that by creating a curriculum and adding those elements back as stand-alone companions to the video.

Alistair am I correct here?

Good Luck Maurice...keep us posted!!

Hey e-slinger,

You are 100% correct. Adobe Connect recordings typically retain their interactivity, but once converted to FLV or MP4, they become standard video files with no interactive elements.
