Recording w/o Phone

Our company uses phone lines instead of VOIP - Is it possible to record something if one person wants to use a microphone (instead of phone), if we have no intentions of doing this live?

Additionally, what are the main advantages to using VOIP?

Yes, you can always choose to not use your phone bridge and just use VoIP. Additionally, there is a setting in Administration > Account > More Settings where you can enable Universal Voice (the ability to use VoIP and the phone at the same time) for any of the integrated providers. So the person could use their microphone while you are on the phone. Connect should record the VoIP audio either way.

Main advantages of using VoIP? In my opinion, cost. VoIP can be used at no additional cost and across time zones and countries. I've used it to speak with people in Europe and Australia and had little to no issues in doing so. The biggest thing to be careful of is using cheap hardware (audio quality tends to be poor) and low bandwidth.
