Recording a Shared Window/Desktop?

I'm trying to record a meeting that involves sharing an open browser window, but when I share the window (or my desktop, for that matter), I can't seem find any controls for recording.

Do I need to start recording before I share?

Yes, you need to start the recording by going to Meeting > Record Meeting. You can come back into the room and do this process after you start screen sharing, but it wouldn't be any more efficient.
