Making recordings offline but not in real time

In Adobe Connect 8 the only way to make recordings offline was to play them back in real time.  Is this still true for Adobe Connect 9?  My understanding was that we can simply download the recording without playing it back - is this true?

No, the offline recording function is the same in Connect 9. Since the Connect server doesn't record a 'video' file of the meeting, there is nothing to download as a stand alone file. You can always pull the source files for the recording playback down by appending the recording URL with /output/name.zip?download=zip, and you may be able to use those to piece a stand alone recording, but that doesn't always work.

In Adobe Connect 9, when I click "Make Offline" in order to create a .flv file, I receive this message: "Please install Adobe Connect Add-in in order to make Offline Recordings".  But when I click "Install Add-in" nothing happens. 

I really need to get recordings to our client ASAP.  Just this morning I did not receive this message and was able to record the .flv.

Help?

Hi Erika, which browser are you using? I get something similar with Chrome, but I'm ok with Explorer...

OK, We're trying a scripted solution to offer offline recordings to our students. Currently we send them a link via the API to something like this https://capitol.adobeconnect.com/p2lz3x … 9yzgesghuu

And then they wait the 2 or 3 hours for the recording. Instead, we want our server to check for new recordings every evening and play them back on its monitor to create an offline copy that students can download from our server. The problem--is there any way to bypass the "Save File As" window?

I noted some possible querystring parameters from some trace files posted in these forums, but I had no luck when I tried

P.S. Jorma, when you use the /output/name.zip?download=zip to download files, how do you get Connect Desktop to read these files?

I've not been able to get the Connect Desktop application to play the files downloaded via the appended URL. The only way that function works is to set up the recording to be allowed to be downloaded, and then having the user find the recording in Connect Desktop and fetching it.

Since Connect Desktop isn't supported with Connect 9, I've not spent much time trying to figure out if I can make it work.
