Adobe Presenter videos published as pdf won't play on Mac

I have Adobe Presenter video files (7.0) that were published as .pdf files and uploaded to Blackboard LMS. When downloaded, they play correctly on Windows machines, but on Macs, the results are inconsistent. The video piece, that is, the PowerPoint slides play like they are supposed to, but the audio playback is problematic. Sometimes the audio plays, sometimes it won't play, but if the files are closed then reopened, sometimes they will play. Other times they won't play at all. The files are the correct size for containing the audio, but the sound won't play and in the play bar, the message "No Audio" appears.
Any insights?

There are free updates available for Presenter 7. Please move to P 7.0.5. This have alot of bugs fixed.

What I really want to know is why they won't play correctly.
