Importing PPT or PPTX into Captivate 5

So, I'm new to 5 and previously used 3 which had no problem importing PowerPoint presentations into Captivate.  Now, all my text boxes are coming in solid black.  The preview looks fine but what actually gets brought in looks a mess.  What am I doing wrong?  I tried saving the PP as PPT and PPTX but neither had a positive effect.
