Deleting the list of cost centers that appears in reports?

Hi

I have been creating lots of cost centers and have deleted most of them now from the cost center list. So when I create or assign a meeting/user to a cost center there are only a few that are active. However when I go to do a report I see all the cost centers I have ever created since my I started using Connect.

Is there a way to remove these? I would like to do some cleaning?
