Bookmarking feature and AICC (resets user's place in course)

Currently the bookmarking feature works apropriately when the content is accessed during a business day (for example, user opens course in morning, needs to exit course for meeting, etc, returns to course and Presenter picks up where they left off).   We have run into an instance where users are unable to pick up where they left off when returning to view a course the following day.  The status on LMS remains "in progress" however when the user relaunches the course, they are returned to the first screen. 

Has anyone else experienced this? We are using Oracle/Peoplesoft 9.0.
