Captivate 4 quiz sometimes automatically skips click box questions

I created a 20-question quiz with multiple-choice, sequence, yes/no, and 2 sets of a series of recorded slides with click boxes to determine if the user knows how to do a set of actions within a Word 2003 application.  If the user clicks outside of the click box on recorded slide with a click box, the question is marked incorrect and then the slide jumps out of the series to the next question.  Here's the issue:  sometimes, but not always, after a user finishes a question on a slide just before one of these recorded slide series, the Incorrect caption for the first slide of the recorded series appears before the user has had a chance to click anywhere on the slide, and is jumped out of the series and on to the next question.  This happens in Preview mode and in our LMS after it's been published as a Zip file from Captivate 4.  I've modified the timing so that all the events pause until the user has clicked somewhere on each slide that has a click box.
