Issues installing AC7.5SP1 (Please assist)

Hi,

I am installing Adobe Connect Pro 7.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 (No edge, just connect server only). I have a few quesitons as follows:

1) From the list of installation products, I am choosing only the following: Is this ok? or do I need to select or unselect something from this?
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Server
Flash Media Gateway
InterCall Telephony Adaptor

2)I am using the following entries:
Account Name - ConnectPro
Connect Pro Host - for Connect Pro Host, as per installation guide it wants me to use FQDN. For now, I am waiting on the FQDN from my organization. Can I use the IP address or the servername of the Windows Server 2008 for the time being and update later on? Is that possible? Or should I create a local DNS entry so that I can atleast test the install on Development box for now. Please advise.

3) I am not integrating AC7.5 with SMTP and hence I have to skip the SMTP entries. But System E-mail and Support E-mail are mandatory fields. What should I use there? Please advise.

4) What should be the value used for Shared Storage and Content Cache Size (Best practice)?

5)Flash Media Gateway screen - I don't have the SIP details at this time and I am waiting on them. Is there a way I can bypass the SIP piece of it but still have the FMG set up? I am using intercall as telephony.

5) Intercall entries: Please advise if these entries are accurate.

CCAPI Host - https://iccapi.audiocontrols.net:8443/a … ices/CCAPI
CCAPI Auth Host - https://iccapi.audiocontrols.net:8443/a … horization
Client Callback URL - >http://[external-hostname or IPaddress]/servlet/intercall/CCAPICallbackSOAP

I will replace the [external hostname or IP address] parameter of the INTERCALL_CLIENT_CALLBACK_URL setting with the external hostname or IP address of Connect Pro Server

Application Token - adobeConnectPro7.x_Licensed
Country Code - US

I have got the Intercall entries from one of the telephony installation guides. I wanted to find out if these are generic values for every organization or do I need these details from the Intercall for my organization. Please advise.

After the installation completed, I could launch the enterprise AC configuration console. Under server settings I could see HTTP Port as 80. Is that ok?

Also under FMG server- the status was INACTIVE and SIP details, as I dont have, were blank.

I then opened a new browser and types http://localhost and i got an IE error and the application didn't launch. I started all the services though.

Can you please advise what went wrong?

Thanks & Regards,
Rahul

One more query I have since I am installing AC7.5SP1 and it has an option of choosing FMG as one of the products to install, do I need to install FMS separetely? (I have the installable zip for FMS).

Please advise.

Re: Issues installing AC7.5SP1 (Please assist)

Rahul,

I recently installed the Intercall telephony adaptor on our Adobe Connect 7.5 SP1 server.
The installer will require you to install FMG server.  If you do not have SIP a service account, you can leave those fields blank. You will still be able use some of the Intercall telephony features.

Without a SIP server you can still control the telephone conference from within the Adobe Connect room.  You can start the conference, call/mute/hangup participants from within the AC room.  Participants can also have Intercall call their phone from within the room by just typing in their phone number into the pod.

Without the SIP server, you don't have an audio bridge from the conference call back to the VoIP of your Connect server.  You will not be able to record the audio from Intercall, and users not dialed into the conference call will not hear audio from their computer's speakers.

One workaround for the lack of the audio bridge: the host in the room can still broadcast audio/record audio by using using the mic on his computer to capture the audio from the telephone.

I am not sure, but my best guess is that the telephony features being misconfigured should not affect the main features of the AC service.  I would recommend that you install the basic server first, and confirm that it works before installing the telephony features.

Here are the Intercall settings that worked for me:

CCAPI host:
https://iccapi.audiocontrols.net:8443/a … ices/CCAPI

CCAPI Auth host:
https://iccapi.audiocontrols.net:8443/a … horization

CLIENT_CALLBACK_URL
http://your-connect-server-url:9080/servlet/intercall/CCAPICallbackSOAP
Be sure to have port :9080 at the end of your server URL

Application Token:
adobeConnectPro7.x_Licensed

Country code: US

Good luck on your install.

Stanley

Re: Issues installing AC7.5SP1 (Please assist)

Rahul,

I haven't tried using an IP address instead of the FQDN.

On my server, if I type http://localhost or http://123.x.x.x (ip address of my server) into a browser, it doesn't work either.

try this:
http://localhost:8510/console/application-settings/server-settings

This can confirm that the web server is functioning.

Re: Issues installing AC7.5SP1 (Please assist)

http://localhost:8510/console/application-settings/server-settings was working for me.

But I wasn't able to get to the application as such so that I can create a sample meeting.

not sure how can I do that in the absence of FQDN

Rahul

webserver is up since you can access console. But to create meeting you will need FQDN.

As far as i understand, you should be able to check meetings by creating entry in local DNS as well. Please let me know if that works

Re: Issues installing AC7.5SP1 (Please assist)

Hi Purnima,

I tried with Local DNS entry in system32/drivers/etc/host and it doesn't bring up the application (place from where I can work as an end user or meeting coordinator).

Not sure what the issue is. I checked all the log files and the installation is successful.

There is only one error in the file

URL Connect:http://myclassroom-dev.com  failed

Any help?

Rahul

Re: Issues installing AC7.5SP1 (Please assist)

I have a FQDN now and the application page is coming up on the local host.

But its not coming up if I try to access it from a different computer (from Internet).

Any pointers?
