Captivate 3 button taking automatically to next slide

Hi

We are working on a Captivate based project in which we are using some buttons and click boxes. The project navigation is controlled by default Captivate player. We are using a click box on each slide, to prevent the project from going on next slide without clicking the next button on player.

The problem occurs when:

We put a clickable button (or clickbox) on a particular slide. The action on button is to open a word document file which is stored locally.

The button settings are: (the following options were selected)
1. Use hand cursor over hit area
2. If user clicks outside button, allow infinite attempts.

We also tried alternative button settings as:
1. Use hand cursor over hit area
2. If user clicks outside button, allow some number of attempts (we entered 100). In this case, for 'after last attempt', we selected 'no action' from drop-down menu.

Here, if we wait till the end of slide and after that the button is clicked, it opens the file properly, but simultaneously takes us to next slide. This should not happen unless and until we click the next button on player.

Does anybody have a solution for this problem?
