Using Adobe Connect with Linux Mint

I have 3 computers, two run the OS Linux Mint (Ubuntu derivative) using Firefox, the other uses Windows XP and Explorer. All devices can recieve pre-recorded events, but the computers using Linux will not log into live events. The screen prompt "Connecting" is displayed for about 10min when it is replaced by "Could not enter". The Linux computers test OK on the Adobe website and have the correct add ins installed.
NB
The computer using Windows logs into live meetings OK but does not have the required add in.

This issue has been posted on the Linux Mint forums but there is no satisfactory work around.

Re: Using Adobe Connect with Linux Mint

We've had difficulty with Linux/Firefox users not being able to connect to live Connect meetings since we secured all meetings on our on-prem Connect installation (RTMPS on port 443). These Linux/FF users pass the Connect test on an unsecure Connect server (e.g., http://admin.adobeconnect.com/common/he … _test.htm) but fail the test on our secure server.

The issue seems to stem from the way Firefox on Linux handles intermediate SSL certificates. Our workaround is to have Linux users join Connect meetings from Google Chrome rather than from Firefox.

There's more information on the exact cause in this bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1064353

(One way to determine if your server is delivering live meetings securely is to look at the green latency/bandwidth meter in the top right corner of the Connect room when you join the meeting. If the meeting is secure, there will be a lock icon in the green button. Of course you'd need to test this from a Windows computer that can actually join the meeting.)

Hope this helps.
