Recording quality/ bandwidth

I have a customer who is almost at breaking point for implementing services he just needs some tips on improving audio/video quality for recordings. Does anyone have any suggestions? He is also concerned about bandwidth - whats recommended. As far as pod size for the video is there a specific size for for better quality??
