presenter will not load up with powerpoint 2007

I was using powerpoint 2007 slide but the presentation was then updated in 2003 and when I tired to publish it stopped working.  I tried uninstalling and installing again a few times but this did not help when I click on presenter - at the top it is [read-Only] [compatiblity mode]

I cannot see the version of presenter, but when I right click on properties the target type is"
microsoft office power point 97-2003 presentation

Go to the Presenter tab in powerpoint and select help -> about Adobe Presenter. In the top right of the box that pops up should be the version and build. I think the latest is 7.0.6 build 7604.

Can you save your presentation as a .pptx again? It almost sounds like the updates that were done in the older ppt version locked the file since you are getting that read only message. Not sure.

I was finally able to get Presenter to work again by saving as 2007 extenison and reinstalling again.
