Get list of all users pending registration approval

Hi,
I'm under the impression this can be done via web services but not sure. Basically I need to a list of users for a particular event who have registered for the event and the their registration is "pending approval".

Ideally I could just pull the above list of users for all pending events in one shot but I don't mind if I have to query on individual events one at a time as I describe above.

Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!
