Thanks I'll have a look. Am i right in presuming Adobe captivate is compliant then with Luminosity Synergy?

You should take a look at Acrobat.com.  It's free and and compatible with Captivate.  Have not tried it myself, but the intro feature video looks great!

Just as a note, Captivate 4 has a reviewing software installed called (aptly) Captivate reviewer. Its rudimentary but may meet your requirements.
