Custom Field for Curriculum

I'm attempting to create a custom field on a curriculum that can be edited through the Connect Pro interface.  The API document action says this is possible.

So far I've created a custom field through the API (since there doesn't appear to be a place to do this in the administrator).  However, this field does not show up in the curriculum wizard.  If I use the API, I can view/update the value of the field so there isn't an issue there.  What I'd like to know is whether the API documentation is wrong about the field showing up in Acrobat Connect Pro or if there's something else I need to do.
