Hi Dan,
I think it's a buffering problem. At our office, we've developed a practice of inserting a "buffer slide" at the start of every presentation. We typically set it up to be a "title slide" or something with no animations or recorded media, that will display for 5-10 seconds. In most cases, that gives the following slides a few seconds to buffer so that when that slide is displayed, it's ready to play the inserted media (video). You might see if that works for you.
We experienced similar problems, and that's been our solution. There may be better ways to fix it.

Hi,
same problem we have. same solution: insertion of another first slide. will also check if update 7.0.5 will bring about improvements.

I will try to insert another start slide without video. To bad though, it's nice to have the video on the first welcome-slide.

as i have tested, the problem should be solved with update 7.0.5.
