SQL 2008 & Windows 2008

Any word on support for SQL 2008 and Windows 2008 for the Adobe Servers?

Has anyone tried Adobe on these versions?

Re: SQL 2008 & Windows 2008

We have used SQL Server 2005 on Windows 2008 without issue, but I would go by the supported configurations on the system requirements page if you want to receive support from Adobe.

Re: SQL 2008 & Windows 2008

I've already installed several Connect Platforms on Windows Server 2008.
The installer will complain about the operating system, but that's it. You can just click "ok" and continue with the installation.
Connect afterwards is running as intended, I've not seen any problems so far.

Regarding SQL Server 2008 I haven't had any problems with it so far as well (except maybe the SQL Server installation & configuration itself).

Re: SQL 2008 & Windows 2008

The issue will be what will Adobe support.

I was hoping someone knew the rollout plan for future releases of Adobe Connect and then they will officially support Windows 2008.

Re: SQL 2008 & Windows 2008

Well, as Adobe Connect 7.5 will be launched soon I presume that Windows Server 2008 will never be officially supported by Connect 7 SP3 and older versions.

Windows Server 2008 will most likely be supported by Connect 7.5. I'm currently waiting for an answer from my support contact person regarding this and will reply here after I got his answer.

Re: SQL 2008 & Windows 2008

I finally got an answer from my support contact.
Connect 7.5 will officially not support Windows Server 2008.

He as well told me that Connect 8 might be the first one to support Windows Server 2008 (yet there is no official internal statement about it).

Regarding your support I presume if it there is something not working porperply with Connect you will get support regardless of your operating system. The only thing that might be not supported is if you run into problems installing the software.

Re: SQL 2008 & Windows 2008

A final note, I got a reply from the Adobe Support Center regarding Adobe Connect support on not supported operating systems:
Adobe will still give support as long as the problem/bug is reproducable on a supported operating system.

So there is no problem using an unsupported operating system. I hope this answers your question completly.
