Service Pack 3 installer

Has anyone else had problems with the Service Pack 3 installer available at http://www.adobe.com/support/connect/updaters.html? We continue to get a runtime error when trying to launch setup. I was wondering if it might be something particular to our location or if everyone else was getting this. We have a support ticket open and awaiting Adobe response.

Thanks

update: The actual message is "Runtime Error (at 43:354): '0.3' is not a valid integer value.

Re: Service Pack 3 installer

I figured out the issue/fix while waiting on an Adobe response for the last two days.. I'm not sure what is going on with their support desk?

The installer problem is caused by a bug fix on SP2 for version.txt located at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408728.html . You need to revert back to your previous version.txt file which I included below. This seems to be a patch management issue for engineering.

Re: Service Pack 3 installer

I just had have the same problem during an installation job on sunday evening, which failed because of that very stupid error.

I really want Adobe to fix that Installer because it should not be our Job to patch the version.txt every time and which I already did last time after SP2 crashed the reports ... ;-(

Re: Service Pack 3 installer

I had pushed for a fix for a few days where they couldn't figure out the problem, and where I couldn't reach the higher level engineers, and they knew about the problem/fix Friday morning before they finally made the official announcements on the forums. I didn't see any mention of this problem in the announcement. Their help desk has lost some of it's effectiveness unfortunately.

update: the engineering team is working to release new installer for Connect 7 SP3. (bug #2363078)
