Assistance Screen Sharing with writing tool - suggestions for tool

I need to have the capability to write on a "cyber pad" type device that will "show" what I'm writing on a screen, which can be screen shared with students. Does anyone have any suggestions for a product to use? I've tried the cyberpad by Adesso but for some reason it is not being recognized on my laptop or desktop. In our program, we want to be able to share mathematical formulas quickly via using the writing device and screen sharing. The White Board function is not viable for this purpose.

I've seen great results with a DigiMemo.

After doing some research, I was able to gauge that even though this is simply going to be done through screensharing, and nothing else. Even though this is an external piece of hardware, it makes no difference in Connect. When sharing a desktop and directing to the proper drive with the DigiMemo plugged in via USB, I was able to watch 6 people solve a math problem.
