Is there a maximum # of users that can usethe web cam feature or the a

Hi there,

I am a faculty member at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada and my university has purchased Connect Pro to further Online Teaching. I've been loosy trained on the program, and am looking to begin testing it in classroom environments but was wondering if someone would be able to tell me if there is a limit to how many students would be able to transmit web video, or audio at one time?

I have a class of 30 students, and we would love to be able to all be connected and speaking at any given time.

Any insight or experience would be greatly apprecaited!

Thanks!

Hi Alex,

Welcome to the community.  I would not recommend that you have all of your students share audio and video for the duration of the class as this will create a huge bandwidth requirement for the meeting and likely result in lag time and a poor experience for your students, especially those on slower connections.  Also this will make managing the meeting really overwhelming for you to manage and instruct at the same time.

However, a great alternative to this would be to teach your students to use change their status to "Raise Hand" using the status notification.  Once a student raises their hand, you can grant them microphone rights (which also allows them to share their webcam as well) to ask their question or respond to a prompt that you put out there.

So in your class, you would plan in advance places in the material where you want to pause and allow for student interaction.  Then at those moments ask students to raise their hand if they have questions or want to answer your question.  Select a student, and grant them microphone rights and let them ask via webcam and VoIP.

A few resources that should be of great help for you are on the Product Resource Center (http://www.adobe.com/go/connectpro_resources)

David,

This is great, thank you very much for your speedy reply. I will look at what you sent me. As well, your question asking feature sounds much more managable, thank you for that as well.

All the best, and I will post again soon!
