Change where connect installs the plug in from

I have a connect server on a classified network that does not have access to  the internet.  If someone doesnt have the plugin installed and enters a meeting a window opens in the upper right corner saying click here to install plugin.  I am trying to change where that link points to, so I can have it point to the file I have saved on my server instead of pointing to adobe.com.  Does anyone know what file I need to change in order to do that?  I have been looking through the config files, but have not been able to find that link as of yet.

I have Connect 6.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Change where connect installs the plug in from

Read this:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewCon … &sliceId=2

It explains how to configure that particular setting.

Thanks.  That worked kind of.  It is now pointing to my file, but takes of the file extension when it downloads it.  One step closer I guess.

Re: Change where connect installs the plug in from

I have the same issue, I have already modified the .xml files and I am able to download the addin from the local server. You can also hit http://yourdomain.com/common/help/en/su … g_test.htm test your setup and download the addin from there as well. The addin download works, but connect still shows the addin as not present.

Re: Change where connect installs the plug in from

I had that problem with a few users.  They had to go in and unistal the add-in and then reinstall it.  Worked for most.  Still have a few that have to install it every time they enter a meeting.  Trying to figure out what is causing that.

Re: Change where connect installs the plug in from

My addins seem to be downloading ok, I replaced the addins from the install from the latest ones here: http://www.adobe.com/support/connect/up … ml#outlook

The 'install' link in the upper right corner still strips the .exe file extension from the file, but I have been sending my users to the Home>Getting Started>Windows to install the addin.

I called Adobe support for a fix, they do not have one, apparently the same error is in Connect 6 & 7

Re: Change where connect installs the plug in from

Instead of pointing them directly to the file direct them here:

    <m id="addInLocation" platform="Windows">/common/help/en/support/addindownload.htm</m>
    <m id="addInLocation" platform="Mac OS 10">/common/help/en/support/addindownload.htm</m>

This will point them to a page with the links for just the plug-ins on it.
