Flash 10 conflict with Adobe Acrobat Connect ?

When I login to a meeting, I receive the message "Adobe Acrobat Connect requires Flash Player 8,0,0,0 or later.
I recently installed Flash Player version 10.
Connect does not seem to work in FireFox (PC and Mac) or Safari (Mac) but does in IE (PC)!
It formerly worked in all those browsers.

Any ideas welcomed.
Thanks.

I would suggest contacting Adobe Support.  You may need to update the server's JS detection so that it recognizes FP10 as being valid for ACP.

We saw the same problem. I contacted Adobe support and they sent me a patch immediately. I haven't installed it yet, but it sounded like they knew exactly what I was talking about and this patch was designed to fix this bug.

Hi anhyzer, how did your patch installation go, did it resolve the problem?

Thanks,

Re: Flash 10 conflict with Adobe Acrobat Connect ?

I work with over 500 students who log into connect from around the world - all was fine until v10 was released.  The Mac users are fine but PC Windows XP and Vista users can not get into Connect sessions if they upgrade to v10 on their own or click the ok button to upgrade from within the troubleshooting section of connect.

The only we have found is that we have to delete v10 with the extra file of active x flash player 10 in the control panel.

Not sure what adobe was thinking when this was released, however this needs to be corrected asap.

Hi ConnectUser,

If you (or your administrator) installs the patch from Adobe Support to fix the Flash Player detection issue on your Connect Pro server this problem should go away immediately.

Best,
David

ts, the Flash 10 detection patch can be found in this article:

We had the same issue and it worked flawlessly after the patch. Good luck!

...just an add-on to ConnectUser. The Flash 10 problem does affect Mac users. In fact, we discovered the issue because I couldn't use Connect on my Mac after installing Flash 10. The patch works great and was no problem to install. We've been using it since the day after Flash 10 launched and have had no new issues.
