What are Forced Recordings?

Hi, guys.

In the admin console for Connect Pro (hosted), the Content tab now has three options:  User Content, Shared Content, and Forced Recordings.

I can't find anything documented about Forced Recordings, and the useless tech support people hadn't heard of it.  Anybody here know what that's about?  Thanks!

Re: What are Forced Recordings?

Hi Shelly,

Forced Recordings are a new compliance feature in ACP 7.  Please note that it is only available to customers who have deployed ACP on premise (aka licensed, NOT hosted).

So why does this feature exist?  Well, certain organizations within organizations, especially in regulated verticals (financial services for example), are required to record and be able to provide a record of all communication that happens with people outside of the company.  To enable this, we implemented this feature.

Specifics of how to enable and use this feature can be found on pages 163-165 in the USING ADOBE ACROBAT CONNECT PRO 7manual.

Using Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro wrote:

Re: What are Forced Recordings?

Okay, that makes sense, sort of... but it seems like it shouldn't be showing up for us since we're using ACP 7 hosted.  It helps to know what it's *supposed* to be for, though.  Thanks, David!

Re: What are Forced Recordings?

I totally agree that it doesn't make sense to show up for hosted customers.  I've sent a note to the PMs about this.

Re: What are Forced Recordings?

David - is "Enable Chat Transcript" also not relevant to hosted accounts?

Re: What are Forced Recordings?

Forced Recordings should show up for both hosted and on-premise accounts.  The difference being that on-premise accounts have an extra option.

Hosted customers can use the 'Forced Recordings' section to disable the ability to record ANY meeting on that account (this may be necessary for a compliance program).

On premise customers also have the ability to record every meeting on an account.

Re: What are Forced Recordings?

Is this still the case?  And if that so, how much would it cost to get a liscence to host it?  Seems confusing on your website.
