'Place participants on hold' not working correctly

I am trying to use the 'place participants on hold' function but it's not working correctly. I can put participants on hold, but when I try to take them off hold they are still seeing the hold screen. It makes no difference whether I try to click the blue 'i' icon in the top-right corner to 'Resume' or whether I click the meeting menu and untick the 'place participants on hold' option.

As the host, I can see that a small icon (circle with a line through it) appears next to each participant when they are on hold which then disappears when I take them off hold. However, the participants themselves do not come back into the room. They get stuck on hold.

We are using Adobe Connect 9.4.2

Any help would be appreciated.
