saving documents

After the presenter and participant mark on a jpeg or some document are they able to save that onto their computer? Also, if the presenter is showing the partipant a video, could they save it as a separate file?

Re: saving documents

Hi There,

After the presenter and participant mark on a jpeg or some document are they able to save that onto their computer?

Currently the only way that you can save whiteboard annotations is by using the whiteboard print function.

Clicking this button in the whiteboard controls brings up a dialog that allows you to print whiteboard contents.  If you have a product like Adobe Acrobat or FlashPaper (which is free with your Meeting license) you can print to a document that can be saved locally

You can download you copy of FlashPaper on the Getting Started Pages in Connect Pro Central (the name for the web interface).  If any of this is unclear, feel free to contact me.

Also, if the presenter is showing the partipant a video, could they save it as a separate file?

There is a way to do this.  The participant cannot do it from the Share Pod, but here is a series of easy steps that will enable this use case by using a File Share Pod.

1. In the Meeting interface, go to Pods > File Share > New File Share Pod
2. Click Upload File and do one of the following:

a) Click Select From Content Library and navigate to the folder that contains the video which you've previously uploaded
b) Click Select From My Computer and in the Browse Content window, navigate to the location on your computer where the video resides.

3. Select the file and click Open.

The file now appears and the participant can download it to their local computer.

Note: Option 2a is clearly preferable to 2b because then only one copy of the video will be uploaded to the Acrobat Connect Pro server.  If you follow option 2b, then there will be two versions of the same video which will increase disk space usage and might cause conflicts down the line if the video ever gets updated.
