Initial login info email from Adobe - editable?

We are a recent customer of Adobe Connect 7 and have been utilizing the training portion of the tool heavily. While it overall gets high grades for its functionality and usability, certain fundamental things are severely lacking.

For example, when a new user registers for a training "curriculum", the text-based email they receive their username and password on is ridiculous. The consistent answer from our Adobe rep is that this can not be customized as it is a system email. It's a marketer's nightmare to have a really ugly, unbranded email go out from a 3rd party with a subject line you can't control.

My question is: do you have any strategies/spins when they receive this very ugly initial text-only Adobe Connect u/p email? Just looking for a creative way to lessen this ugly email in our current process.

Thanks!

The adobe rep is correct. Short of the text edit tool when setting up the emails, the templates are not editable and they are only text-based.

If you area licensed customer, you can edit this content.  I believe it's stored in the language files in your Connect server, or one of the tables.  This would be unsupported by Adobe, and will probably be overwritten in subsequent releases, but it is doable. ;)

Yeah, what michael said. :)

Most of the content that comes out of Adobe Connect is in XML files in the \breeze directory if you're running the licensed version.  It's a little complicated and depending on what you change you might have to work with multiple files, but it is possible.

It's just very much not supported by Adobe.  It'll probably go away when you upgrade things so you need to watch out for it whenever you do something to your system.

I hope that some day they make this stuff more easily customizable.

Yeah, that'll happen the same day that learners don't see the admin controls on the top silver toolbar of the system --  ie. never!

We wrote a small application that uses the API to create the user(s) and then emails them with the message we authored.

Just a thought.

Has there been any developments on this topic since connect 8 ? This message should be customizable. One additional question, for the least, how do you adjust the default language of that message ? What if I'd like to change it to Korean for instance ?

Thanks

No nothing has changed on the workflow of editing that text.

However you should be able to set the default language for the sever to Korean, and then create the user and send them a notification email. Then change the language of the server back to your desired language. That should send the email in the appropriate language.

The other option would be to send the email to yourself (create a new account for you) in that language and then you could re-purpose that email as needed.
