Saving a recording as an FLV file sometimes creates two files

I have been saving some recorded meetings as FLV files. Generally I am prompted at the start of the playback to provide a filename for the recording. However, in a few instances, I have been prompted again at the end of the playback and a second, smaller, file is created. What is this second file? Is it needed?
