Problem when installing: Unable to detect Microsoft Powerpoint

Hello!

I'm trying to install Presenter on my computer but this error message comes on:

"Error - Unable to detect Microsoft Powerpoint. You must have PowerPoint installed on this machine prior to running this installation program".

The thing is I HAVE PowerPoint installed on my machine, why can't the installer find it?

My setup:
Windows 7 Ultimate with Service Pack 1
MS Office 2010

Thank you for any ideas!

Marcos

Re: Problem when installing: Unable to detect Microsoft Powerpoint

It is an issue of the Presenter 7.0.0 installer (not supported by PPT 10). There is a new installer due out in the next month or so that should resolve this issue, as I understand it.

If you have an earlier version of office you can install an earlier version of PPT, install Presenter, update presenter to 7.0.6 and then upgrade to PPT10 and it will work. Otherwise, I don't know if there is a work around.

Re: Problem when installing: Unable to detect Microsoft Powerpoint

Hi Marcosp,

Try this installer -> http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/pre … senter.msi

Once you install it, ensure you update to the latest version via help > updates to 7.0.6

Thanks,
Ravi

Hey redhatperl, I tried this installer, no good. It still does not detect PowerPoint 2010.

Re: Problem when installing: Unable to detect Microsoft Powerpoint

marcosp,

Have you tried the new installer for Presenter 7.0.7 that is available from http://www.adobe.com/products/presenter/?

It is supposed to work straight into PPT 10. The output will not work in a Connect room until your account is updated to 8.1.2 (probably tonight), but the output can be viewed as a stand alone project still.

It was discussed on this thread: http://www.connectusers.com/forums/cucb … hp?id=5586
