Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

That page reports: "DOWNLOAD TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. Please check back again soon. "

Any word on when SP2 will again be available for On Premises users to download?

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

New Connect user here - we had just installed Connect Pro Server 7, and found out that SP2 was available - Unfortunately downloaded and installed the first release which has now been replaced.

Does anyone know what advice Adobe are offering on this?  We have contact support and am waiting for their reply!

I was going to try uninstalling SP2 from the Control Panel followed by installing the new release, but this sounds far too simple!

Is anyone aware of any specific problems caused by the previous release of SP2?

Thanks
Sam

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

I have downloaded 7 SP2 20090217 and am in the process of reinstalling.  SP2 = very very bad!!!  This is one time when you'll be thankful you took a backup beforehand.

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

samcole run your AV and make sure your system is clean, seriously. The procedure if they haven't gotten back to you is to go back to a backup of your db and some point and re-install that version of AC, then re-apply SP2 on top. It took me about an hour to do this on our development.

So far I'm hearing problems with AC SP2 and SQL Server 2005 SP3 and problems with the reporting screens.

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

Hi Jason,

The reporting screens should be fixed via this technote.

As for the SQL Server 2005 SP3 issues, can you please elaborate or point me to a post?

I've heard of problems with SQL Server 2005 SP3 and SP2, however I am not seeing any issues once the note above was applied.

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

Thanks for the update David!

I am exploring an issue with MS Office 2007 font faces in our .ppt & .pptx uploads - both thru Presenter (client side conversion) and direct upload (server side).

Would you know if this service pack will include the new fonts for the connect server on our Adobe-hosted account?  (I've also called this in to Adobe tech support).

For anyone who is interested, here are some references to the new fonts in Office 2007.

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

We ended up running an AV check, uninstalling and then reinstalling Connect and SP2.

Ours was a brand new installation so we were probably lucky in being able to do this fairly easily!

Thanks for the help!

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

To all,
I have adobe connect pro 7 installed...and am trying to install SP2.   I keep getting the following error after choosing the language:

"You must uninstall your existing version of Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine before continuing."

I have SQL 2005 Express SP3 installed on the server and not SQL SDE.   Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

Disregard my previous post.  I found my problem....... "user error".    I had more than one SQL instance on the box...and the service packs were getting applied to the wrong instance.  I selected the correct instance...applied the SQL service pack to it........and I am now able to run Connect 7 sp2.

I'm doing this from memory as I am not in front of my server....but I

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

Is there a fix for the MSDE unistall issue when install SP2 for Connect 7? I am using SQL 2005 Enterprise. I have never had MSDE installed. It is not in add\remove programs.

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

I spoke with the AWESOME support team that Adobe has seem to have gathered over the past few months. After getting disconnect 3 time; getting placed on hold with no music other than an annoying 2 second beep every 5 second, they tried to edit the registry of my server. It seems that during the installation of SP2 for connect 7 it looks to see what version of SQL you are using. If you are using SQL 2005 with SP3, the install thinks this is MSDE SQL Light and wants you to uninstall the a program that is not installed. I would think there should be a patch for this issue. They have supposedly escalate my call, but I don

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

This seems to have work. I did not have a MSSQL.2 key.

1) Start the Regedit tool
2) Back up the Registry
3) Locate the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft \ Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion
And
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft \ Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion
And
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion

4) Change the key to 9.00.3042.00
5) Save the Registry
6) Re-try the Connect 7 SP2 install
7) When the installer finishes, then open up the Registry Edit tool again

Re: Connect Pro 7, Service Pack 2 Now Available

I tried to follow the above registry tweak but still to no avail, still get the message to uninstall Desktop Engine.  Tried on both SQL Express edition, all SPs, and also on SQL Server 2005 Standard, SP1-SP4.  Is there something else I could try?
