AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

I'm preparing a migration to Adobe Connect 11 and have installed it on a staging server.  My user base spans several different internal corporate networks, so it isn't quite the same as the general public, but I also can do some troubleshooting that isn't always an option for admins.

One problem I've run into is that if I have a meeting configured to use the new Standard view in the standalone Windows application then the meeting hangs at about 80% during loading at a remote network.  When I set the meeting to the classic view (which loads in the old legacy client) then it works fine.  Looking at the ConnectCefApp.log file generated in Standard view I can see that it dies when trying to connect to the RTMPS server that the legacy client connects to successfully.  The Standard view works just fine in my local network.  The difference between my local network and the remote one is that the remote network has to go through a proxy server to get to my server.

Digging through the Chromium Embedded Framework documentation that the new client is built (https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/cef/wiki/GeneralUsage#markdown-header-proxy-resolution) on I don't see that a CEF application can be configured to use the system-defined proxy settings.

If that's what is causing my problems, how is the new client supposed to work in a corporate environment?

Re: AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

It should be attempting to Connect over WS protocol on port 80 or WSS protocol on port 443 if using SSL. It could be that the network proxy needs to be aware to allow traffic to the ACTS servers over those ports.

Re: AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

The HTML5 client opens meetings just fine (Chrome for example).  That's why I think the full Client isn't properly using the system-defined proxy server.

We have the same exact problem. Did you do any workaround..? Do you think Adobe should solve it, or is it admins that should workaround and fix this (e.g. due to more constrained organization's network, etc.)

I think Adobe has to solve it.  I can't control the configuration on remote networks.

Dear all,

we are still facing this problem. The new desktop application with standard view is still stucking on loading.
How can the new CEF application be configured to use the system-defined proxy settings?

Who can help us? We need urgent help.

Hi Andreas,

I believe this is a known issue that the team is looking to quickly resolve. It doesn't affect the HTML client in a browser, but does affect the Windows application. I'll try and get the status and provide an update if possible.

Re: AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

Quick update.

The engineering team has identified and fixed the issue (CONN-4124911) in the Adobe Connect application. The application needs to QA'd prior to being made available. The team is targeting March for an updated application to be available. I don't have a more specific date at this time, but since it's an issue in the application it will be rolled out to everyone at the same time (vs. server updates which are rolled out gradually).

Until the new application is available, I'm afraid your only options are to continue to use Classic view or use Standard view in the web browser.

New version of the Windows App was released today. My customers are seeing the proxy settings correctly recognized and used.

Re: AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

Hi - Could someone explain in basic terms why our external training clients are getting hung up in the sign-on screen.  They have the app installed but most are being driven to the web. They get hung there too. TThe're using Chrome as a browser. We're using Standard layout and have enabled app or web. Sometimes, but not all, they can repaste the class link into a browser and get in.  Yesterday we had a duplicate room open - same link - 2 rooms at the same time. The instructor was in one teaching the few people that made it in and the other 15 sat waiting in the clone room.  When I tried to enter, I went to the clone room too. We had to stop the class in the classroom with the trainer, have him and everyone else close out and reopen the room and it resolved. This happened once last week too but it seemed like a glitch and wasn't during a class. I realize proxy servers and client VPNs can cause issues, so if you have advice on any of this, I'd appreciate it.

Hi Amy,

Are they getting stuck on the 'Preparing Room' screen? Are they using a browser or the application?

Re: AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

Hello,
We are facing the same issue. Adobe Connect desktop app worked fine before the update and now is broken over proxy. It fails when it tries to access the rtmp server. The app is stuck at Preparing the room... loading screen. When off proxy it works fine. Also, the web app works fine on and off proxy but we prefer the performance of the desktop app.

Re: AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

Version 2021.3.4 of the application fixed the issue related to PAC and Proxy files. Here are the release notes:
https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/adobe-connec … notes.html

The apps should now update automatically, but you can always download the latest versions here:

Re: AC11 standard view in client application does not support proxy?

Whitelisting adobeconnect.com URL WITH a combination of a new Adobe Connect 2021.3.4 fixed the problem.
Whitelisting and using older app version wasn't working.

Where can I find this version to download? I only see 2021.3.27.64 available on the downloads page
