Hosting from a Browser?

Does anyone know if it makes a difference in performance if a meeting is hosted from an HTML5 Browser vs the App? There are small glitches when our team hosts in both formats, but I didn't know if anyone had more problems hosting from the Browsers? We let participants also enter via app or browser.

Re: Hosting from a Browser?

Functionally, there are a couple of differences:
• you can't share your screen via the browser - the app is required for this
• video is limited in terms of both resolution and number of video streams in the browser compared to the app

In addition to those functional differences, you may also see an improvement in audio quality when using the app. The browser limits the number of resources available and this can lead to choppy audio - especially on less powerful systems. The application gets around these limitations and tends to have better audio quality.

If you're hosting a meeting, I'd highly recommend using the application if possible.
