Enormous File Sizes

Does anyone have any idea why Presenter adds so much size to a published PowerPoint presentation?  I am trying to publish an 18Mb PowerPoint (pptx), but every time I do, the resulting Presenter file is over 400Mb.  This presentation contains no video and no audio, just screen resolution compressed photos.

Are you including the source files when uploading to Connect?

Beyond that, it's all just a guess without knowing what's in the presentation.
