Muticast in Connect

Hi,

Does Adobe Connect support multicast transmission?

What is bandwidth requirement for on premise server to support 500 users in different meeting rooms ( 10 Meetings simultaneously) using Sharing desktops, Audio and video? is 100 mbps internet connection line suitable to support the above.

Khaled,

No, Connect does not support multicast. Every user has a dedicated unicast connection.

As to is 100 mbps suitable, this depends on what you are doing. To work out the math, I'd recomend you run a test session that will have the types of activities you are expecting to happen in Connect and monitor your bandwidth demand. You can do this by clicking on the connection status icon on the top right of the meeting next to the Help menu.

From there you can take your peak bandwidth numbers and do the math to see if that connection will be sufficient. The application is designed to be able to support up to 500 concurrent meeting connections with the recomended specifications or better. The minimum that Connect is supposed to be deployed with is 100 mbps but 1 Gbps is recommended.

Network requirements

100 Mbps Ethernet (1 Gbps recommended)
