What is that blue dot that appears on Ctrl + Click for?

Hello All,

Something that has made me scratch my head is this...when you ctrl+click on the stage of a Cp 8 project a blue dot shows up where you click (at least for me). It will stay put until you click somewhere else and then it disappears.

Does this happen for all?
I can not find any documentation on what is is for...does anyone know?
