Edge communication described?

I need to make some descriptions of how Adobe Connect communicates through the edge in different scenarios (using reverse proxy with SSL). Hope somebody can help..

1. Who initiates communications when an external participant connects to a scheduled meeting by clicking the url?

2. If the external participant doesn't use VoIP or shares his screen, is RTMPT used at all or is it just HTTP?

I have looked at http://www.connectusers.com/tutorials/2 … /index.php but its still not completely clear to me.
