Can Adobe Connect run off a MySQL database?

Has anyone tried?

You can't run it off MySQL.  No hack will get it to work.  Any reason why you would want to do this?  You can always use the free version of SQL.

Curious :)

SQL express does not allow external connections so it cannot be used as a stand-alone.

Thanks!

What does that mean? External connections? To the DB? It's free....and only to be used to run Connect, as per the eula, so why would you need other connections? And what do you mean as a stand alone? Stand alone what?

You could try installing it to Express and then changing the pointer in the config. It's a version detection, I don't think it detects the type of DB....But who knows? I don't see why you would want to do this anyway.

Using SQL express is for test environments only.  In a production environment, you would want the DB to run on a separate server, hence, standalone.

SQLexpress does not allow for connections outside of the box.

Anyways, mute point.  This was purely for my own curiosity.
