Add a New Manadtory Filed to the data

I have 550+ users and would like to add a new Manadatory field.

We were using just  first name, last name, and email.
I want to add Market and Territory.

Can I upload this info?

Re: Add a New Manadtory Filed to the data

You can mandate whatever information you want with user profiles. Just go to Administration > Users and Groups > Customize User Profile, and add your desired fields.

However, be aware that individuals with existing accounts will not be forced to input the new information, their accounts are "grandfathered" in with their existing information. You can do a mass update with a CSV list though, if you were so inclined.

Yes, would love to update all of those Grandfathered individuals.
I have done CSV's for mass new learners but never to add info to existing.

How is that done?  I looked around but it was not immediately clear to me.

Re: Add a New Manadtory Filed to the data

Just use the Create New User option when uploading a CSV. If users already exist, then it will up date any information that is different from their account info (other than login and passwords).

Just be sure to get your headers correct on the CSV, your custom fields will come after the standard five (first-name,last-name,login,email,password) and will most likely need to be identified with the "x-" value (x-12345678, for example). You can find this value buy either mousing over the new field in the Customize User Profile Section, or by looking at the URL in your browser when you are creating or modifying the field.

I will give it a try of a small group first.  Thank you so much,  if this works for me it will be a HUGE time saver.

I will repost and let you know how it goes.

Re: Add a New Manadtory Filed to the data

Ok, I did this to a small group and WOW, this makes my day!

Just to be sure,  This will NOT change their password info?
If they have changed it from their original one it will not be overridden?
I am almost there.

Correct, Password info will not update via CSV.

Glad I could help!
